In August 2008 Dave Stewart of Eurythmics fame releases “The Dave Stewart Songbook Vol. 1″, an album consisting of newly recorded versions of 21 songs from Dave’s most celebrated material. In addition to smash-hits from Eurythmics such as “Sweet Dreams” and “Here Comes the Rain Again,” the songbook includes timeless tracks penned by Stewart including Tom Petty’s “Don’t Come Around Here No More,” No Doubt’s “Underneath It All,” Mick Jagger’s “Old Habits Die Hard” (which earned Dave and Mick a Golden Globe award), Celine Dion’s “Taking Chances” and songs written and produced for U2, Sinead O’Connor, Jon Bon Jovi, Bryan Ferry, Bob Geldof, Beyonce, Sarah McLaughlin, Shakespear’s Sister and Candy Dulfer. All songs have been with recorded with his touring band and a full orchestra.

The aptly titled “Dave Stewart Songbook, Vol. 1″, is accompanied by a stunning 300-page hard-cover coffee-table book of the same title including a chapter dedicated to each song with the intimate story behind the music and never-before-published photographs of these international superstars, many of which were shot by Dave Stewart, a renowned photographer himself. This wonderful package also comes with a double-CD set of all 21 songs newly recorded by Dave Stewart & His 30-piece Rock Fabulous Orchestra along with the sheet music to each track.
